The Skaneateles Labor Day Race Weekend is an event organized by a community of volunteers to raise funds for Skaneateles Splash!, Inc. Splash!, a 501 (c) 3 organization, is committed to organizing, promoting and overseeing aquatic activities, including water safety, and educational, recreational and competitive aquatic events. The net proceeds from the Labor Day Race Weekend are used to support aquatic activities in the community.
In addition to supporting the local youth, girls high school and masters’ swimming programs, Splash! has also contributed thousands of dollars towards aquatic activities and aquatic safety programs, including:
- Purchase and installation of a state of the art timing system for the competitive pool in the Soderberg Aquatics Center.
- Financial support of the Learn to Swim Program and Making Waves, a swimming program for disabled children.
- Subsidization of safety programs such as Water Safety Instructors certification course and the Lifeguard certification course.
- The purchase of aquatic equipment for the Soderberg Aquatics Center.
Splash! has also been a generous supporter of other community organizations, particularly those related to water safety, such as the Skaneateles volunteer fire department and SAVES and the Milfoil Eradication Project.
Splash! is continuously looking for other aquatic programs and activities that it can support and we welcome new ideas from the community and participants of the Labor Day Race Weekend.
Thank you for your support!
